UCC Creative Artists in Residence Series

UCC Creative Artists in Residence Series 2019, Public Event – 11 Sept 2019

The collective brilliance of our Artists in Residence brought together for an evening of readings, music, lively performance and discussion.

The artists were; award-winning Irish film-maker, writer and theatre director Alan Gilsenan (UCC / Arts Council Film Artist in Residence 2019/20); novelist Sara Maitland (UCC / Cork City Council / Munster Literature Centre, Frank O’Connor International Short Story Fellow 2019); novelist Danny Denton (UCC / Arts Council Writer in Residence 2019/20), whose first novel, The Earlie King & The Kid In Yellow, was nominated for ‘Newcomer of the Year’ at the Irish Book Awards in 2018; traditional accordion player Danny O’ Mahony (UCC / Arts Council Traditional Artist in Residence 2019/20), traditional Irish concertina and piano player Jack Talty(UCC / Arts Council Traditional Artist in Residence 2018/19) and theatre writer, actor and director John McCarthy (UCC / Cork Opera House Theatre Artist in Residence 2018/20).
